(no subject)
It's that time again, with the nip in the air and the site of lights everywhere, good will and good cheer. And stupid stores and people like myself celebrating the holidays a MONTH before even Thanksgiving. =; TIS THE SEASON, HOBAGS.
Step 1.
+ Make a post to your LJ.
The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me.") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD.") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
+ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your e-mail address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (Note: home address, not required!)
+ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step 2.
+ Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred basset hound for free -- do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
01. Really good (or really bad, I don't care, taste is subjective!) art of my favorite characters. Esp. if you've never drawn them before. Brock and Molotov mainly. Or Zaphod Beeblebrox with two heads. Other characters I am fond of from other fandoms: Lucius from HP, TRILLIAN from HHG, Jet from Cowboy Bebop [shut UP], Crowely from Good Omens etc.
02. On the inverse, art of my original characters from Raw Sugar. :D
03. Art supplies. I don't care if it's second hand. Good markers, pens, Bristol paper, and I really really need watercolors.
04. Good Brock/Mol fic! *___* OR good Venture family gen fic
05. A $20 Adcast for my DA [I know I already asked you to get me one, darlas_mom, but I could use the commish money for something else, but it'll still be the same amount!]
06. Crafts! Or something small from somewhere local that showcases where you live. For example, something really cheap from a shop down the street from you.
07. Commissions. I don't care who from, but ... yeah. :( Or advertising my commissions. I rly need the exposure
08. A really nice camera! Mine is nice, but I want to expand past point and shoot. I don't know if we'll get our big money before Christmas, but. Second hand, whatever. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BIG WISHES I HATE PUTTING.
09. Books that mean something to you. I don't care if it's second hand! Or good book recs or places to download books. I want to read again and I am at a loss as to what to read. I owe the library lots of change too and I haven't the funds to actually BUY books.
10. T-SHIRTS. Like a VB one or something really funny that isn't from Threadless. :D [If anyone for some reason wants to do this, I'll email you my size. LOL fattie]
