So it's been a while since my last update, and I have a lot of things to catch up on, but first, I must provide a movie review of what be the best movie of the year, SNAKES ON A PLANEYes, Samuel L. Jackson does not lie; Snakes on a Plane is the best movie of the year. Period. However, your experience cannot and will not be enjoyable if you simply ( Read more... )

I knew it....ever since the hype started, I KNEW they were gonna turn this into the next Rocky Horror Picture Show. Except Rocky horror is a campy musical...what's this movie's excuse? -_-

Well, first I'd like to ask who'd you define as THEY. If you're referring to the internet fanbase, then sure, it's something like Rocky Horror. Now I highly doubt that this movie will reach a Rocky Horror level of cultiness (Rocky Horror had far more interesting characters as a whole, while SoaP only has Sam Jackson), but there are moments to be had. If you need an excuse, I can think of three:

#1 The title. Unlike other media where you are encoraged "not to judge a book by it's cover", you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD judge this movie by it's cover. Personally, because no one tries to hide the fact that it is simply a REALLY BAD movie, I appreciate the sheer honesty, which in this day in age, you just don't find too often.

#2 Samuel L. Jackson. This is Samuel L. Jackson, in his purest, bad-ass form. In comparison to all the other crap going on, Sam Jackson's scene presence is almost God-like.

#3 Society. With all the shit going on in the world, I think people just need something to yell at.

Overall, I just think the idea of "OUR MOVIE IS CRAPPY, COME SEE IT!" is really stupid. It's as if they made this movie and then realized how much it sucked, so they tried to play it off like it's supposed to be.

Sad thing is, it worked. Somehow all the internet buzz and people talking about it everywhere about how stupid the whole thing seemed....suckered everybody into seeing it. They (meaning marketing folks, people on the project itself, etc) convinced millions of people to go see a bad movie when they were well aware of how bad it was going to be.

It makes me sad.

The success of talentless (I'm not referring to Sam here, don't worry) work. It just proves that the quality of things is becoming less and less important to people. It's disappointing, really. There's a lot of heartfelt work out there that people put a lot of time and effort and thought into, and a mindles idea like this succeeds >_*shrug* Anyway, doesn't matter. What I just typed sounds a lot more dramatic than I mean it to. I just find it silly that this became ( ... )
