I'm in the process of making bottle gourd canteens for Shadowmoor characters. It looks really good, just need to line the inside with wax so it holds water

Gourds grow great in Georgia, and they're super easy! You can let the vine crawl around the ground or give it something to climb on, they don't seem to mind either way. But if you want them to stay nice and pretty I'd suggest keeping them up off the ground or they get those icky dark patches where they lay in the dirt. Good luck!

I'll keep that in mind. I was planning on putting up trellises for beans and such, so one more won't be a problem.

I'm looking forward to gardening this year. I found a book on edible landscaping that is giving me some fun ideas!
