I posted this at HF, but I thought I'd share it on LJ as well because it's the nagging idea that's keeping me sane.

Exactly my feelings. I wanted to shove the book aside and pound my head. This... was not JKR. I thought JKR had more depth... what happened to "reading between the lines"?

She killed my second favorite character and mangled my favorite character.

Precisely. What happened to reading between the lines? That's one quote that had VOMITers scrambling for the hills and us cheering. Heck, the first five books had us cheering.

I'm hoping that this isn't the end, that JKR has a much better explanation for the atrocities she committed in HBP. It may be a fool's hope, but the alternative is too much to bear right now.
