I know I said my previous post was probably going to be my last in a very long time, but this cannot wait. If I don't post this now, I'll never get the chance to do it.
If you liked X-Men at all, and liked superhero comics and films and whatnot, you have to see this movie. Heck, even if you don't like that stuff, you'd probably still enjoy yourself. All the adults in the theater were chuckling along with the kids. :D
I loved Sky High, for all the reasons you mentioned. The characters were so great that it was easy to forgive the formulatic plot. At the very end, when they showed a comic book rendering of the main characters, my thought was, "I'd read that comic!" Like you, I loved Layla, and Will because he didn't fit the superhero mold even when he discovered his super powers. And, Warren Peace is smoking, all the way around. This is one kid flick that I really, really hope they do a sequel of.
I'm adding this pic to my memories. Thanks for posting it!
Yay! I'm so glad you liked the movie too. I guess I'm not being delusional about this. :P
But yeah, if they come out with a comic, I'd be one of the first in line to read it. Aside from Layla and Warren, Will was an excellent character himself, though in my opinion, one of the most interesting stories that Disney could have told is if Will never got his powers yet still managed heroic deeds. Just imagine the angst! Of course, this would go against Disney's feel-good family film formula (alliteration not intended), but it'd certainly be more daring... :D
I'm all for a sequel. Let's just hope Disney doesn't butcher it in their grand tradition of sequels.

War-'en-Peace. ..That actually took me a while to get, but still. So good.

Yeah. Totally awesome name, but it's a part of an overall great character package. :)
