Warnings: Atobe is in Japan, but I know in manga/anime, he shouldn't be. I just needed him to be inside~
Perfect Pair chibi form <3
Smiling happily with his eyes open (He was too young to have learned how to walk with his eyes perpetually closed and looking enigmatic, he'd had to settle for looking mysteriously happy with his eyes open) Fuji cooed over Tezuka, who at the age of 5 was taller than him, and... More strict, like a middle schooler. Of course his best friend would never be immature like those brats over on the playground! Being bratty did nothing to highlight the other's cuteness... Except for his and Yuuta's, but that was because they were Fujis!
"Mitsu, can we please go to the park today? I'll play tennis with you later!" cried Fuji, begging Tezuka with his adorable puppy dog eyes, wishing that his best friend would give in to his demands. "I really really want to go!"
Looking at the azure eyes of his best friend, Tezuka tried resisting the pleading look that he was getting. He had wanted to play tennis today, especially since it seemed so fun, running around, hitting a ball every time it got into the court! It was... It was a happy feeling that he got whenever he managed to hit it... And what was that word? Ojii-san had said it... Yeah! It gave him pride to know he had hit the ball!
But... Seeing those eyes of Fuji, Tezuka couldn't help but give in. Not when his best friend was asking so politely, when normally he would already be dragging him off to play, despite the fact that he would rather read a book or do something else that did not involve playing with other kids in the park or playground. Giving into Fuji's demands, Tezuka allowed himself to be dragged towards the park, not knowing that Fuji asking nicely was just a new tactic of getting him to give in.
"Look, Tezuka! I wanna go there!" cried Fuji happily, eyes crinkling, as he pointed to a park that both of them had never been to before. It had fragrance of flowers, and was cleaner than the playground that they normally frequented. Also, nearby, there was a black and yellow playground upon which other kids were quietly playing on. They would go to that place later, after exploring the park first.
"Hn," murmured Tezuka, disgruntled, not liking the way that the park seemed to reek of... pride. He could practically see the sparkles coming from the place, and it gave him such an uncomfortable feeling. He'd rather go to the black and yellow playground; it seemed much more modest and comfortable. But, he had agreed to go with Fuji, so he would simply have to not let his guard down.
Entering the park that seemed to glow with extravagance, Tezuka warily looked around. It seemed silent, which was a good thing… Until there was a wail that cut across the air. Looking up, he wondered why Fuji had suddenly seemed so anxious.
He could see that the other boy was worried; there was an uncharacteristic look on his face. “Fuji, what’s wrong?” he had asked, only to find that the other had broken out into a run, and in the direction of the cry. Following the brunette towards the place where the wail had started, he stopped, shocked by the crying, sniffling boy that was on the ground.
“Yuuta, what happened?” Fuji cried anxiously, kneeling down to his brother. “Why are you crying?”
Feeling a spike of… something shoot through him, Tezuka frowned at the sight of his best friend kneeling beside an unknown boy. “Fuji-“
“Aniki!” sobbed the boy, clutching at Fuji. “This-this purple monster with glitter around him came and hurt me!! And there was this big brown mountain that was standing behind him! They were so scary!!!!!”
“Shhh, Yuuta. Calm down.” Crooned Fuji softly, rubbing his brother’s back. “Why were you in this park in the first place?”
“M-Mizuki said he’d meet me in here! I was looking for him, a-and the monsters came here!”
“Mizuki? Who is this Mizuki?” asked Fuji dangerously, a spark alighting in his eyes. “I’ve never heard of this boy before… I think you must mean Mituli. Why, if he’s the one who led you here…”
“Nii-san, it’s Mizuki! And don’t try hurting him, he’s my-“
“Kabaji, why are there commoners in my park?” came a petulant voice. “I want them out now! And why is that mess still over there?”
“Wahhhh! Aniki, th-that’s the purple monster who sparkles! And that’s the brown mountain that follows him around!”
“Saa, they’re the ones who hurt you? How do you want me to-“
“Why, you are a rare flower among weeds,” said the purple monster, grabbing one of Fuji’s hands. “I must apologize for having filth in this beautiful garden. If I could, I would only fill this place with only you and your radiance.”
Snatching his hand away in disgust, Fuji glared at the boy that his little brother had called a purple monster. “Saa, I believe you were the one to harm my brother… How dare you!?”
“Me, harm a relative of yours? Never!” cried the monster innocently, not recognizing the crying pile on the ground next to the radiant flower that he had found wandering in his park. “I would surely notice anyone who was your brother!”
Narrowing his eyes, Fuji felt sickened by the pure air of innocence that the other person was exuding. Plus, all those sparkles were getting hard to look out, and the way that the other acted, hurting his brother and lying… He hated that boy!
“Yuuta, we’re going to the playground!”
“But, aniki, I want to play with Mizuki!”
“Yuuta-“
“Why, you called? Fufufu, I see that you have come to see me, Syuusuke.”
Snapping, Tezuka couldn’t bear the fact that so many other boys were acting with his Syuusuke so intimately. He hadn’t even gotten a chance to call Fuji, Syuusuke yet! And here he was, watching others come… act nice to his best friend, and call him by his first name.
Hugging Fuji to himself, Tezuka snapped out, “I’m going to marry Syuusuke when I get older! None of you have the right to even call him by his first name!” Sending a glare towards the others, Tezuka made sure that all of them got the point before dragging Fuji and his brother, Yuuta away towards the black and yellow playground. He was sure that it’d be much more enjoyable in that place than this stupid park!
Astonished that the spectacled boy had just dragged the beautiful flower away when he had claimed it as his, Atobe swore that the other was his eternal rival for this Syuusuke’s love! No one could resist his charms! “Kabaji. I want you to invade the next door playground. You can take some of the others there to help you. I want this Syuusuke now! I am the king and I will have him!”
“Usu.”
Entering the playground, Tezuka glared at the trailing Mituli as Fuji had called him and ordered “Mituli, go away. I don’t want you here.”
“But, my rival is here!” he cried, twirling a piece of hair around his finger. “I cannot let him go!”
“Shoo, Mituli, you heard Mitsu. Go away.” Stated Fuji, glaring at the other boy, disliking the way that the other had… had twisted his precious Yuuta into following around.
“But… Aniki, I want Mizuki to stay,” cried Yuuta, looking at Fuji like a shot puppy. “He’s my best friend… Plus he teaches me how to play tennis good!”
Staring into the eyes of his brother, Fuji couldn’t help but relent. How could he not relent when his brother was looking so cute? “Fine… Mituli can stay. But I don’t want to see him!” he cried petulantly, not happy at the fact that this brat was staying around his little brother. How dare the other kid try stealing his cute brother away!
“Yay! Thank you aniki!” Cried Yuuta happily, before grabbing Mizuki by the hand and dragging him off, not noticing the longing glance Mizuki had cast at Fuji and the returning glare that he had received.
“Tezuka, let’s go play~” Fuji cried, now that Mituli was out of hearing. “I-“
“Stop! This is Yukimura’s property!” cried a boy, blocking their path. “He said not to let anyone from the park in! And… If I did, Sanada would slap me!”
“Saa, Mitsu… Do you know who this Yukimura is?” inquired Fuji, smiling and looking up at the other. He was so happy that the other had said that he would marry him! He couldn’t wait to tell nee-san, but first… He wanted to play, not be stopped by this demon or devil or whatever this person or brat was!
“No I don’t.”
“Hm, is that so? And I really wanted to play here…” pouted Fuji, disappointed by the fact that he couldn’t go inside. “And I don’t want to force myself in…”
“Akaya, let them through. They don’t have the sparkliness as you dub it, around them. They seem to be perfectly normal kids like us.”
“Yukimura!’ cried Akaya. “Are you sure? B-but, they came from that place!” Pointing accusingly at the pair, he started to sulk, having been told that he was wrong by his precious buchou.
“Yes, I’m rather sure. Or would you like to attract Renji and Genichirou’s attention? Besides, I like the feeling that one of them is giving… the one who seems like me.”
“Too late. We already came over when he stopped those two. Hm, Tezuka Kunimitsu and Fuji Syuusuke… Both from Seigaku. Yukimura, Fuji is the smaller one, Tezuka is the one with glasses. My name is Yanagi Renji, and the scowling one is Sanada Genichirou.”
“Ne, Mitsu, what does scowling mean?”
“…”
“It means that he has a frowning look on his face,” stated Yukimura, smiling enigmatically. “But, Genichirou, I believe that we do have some unwanted visitors… That pompous boy, Atobe, from that park must have sent his servants over here. You are the emperor of this playground, are you not? Why don’t you go drive the others away?”
“I’ll help. He was trying to steal away my Fuji.” Stated Tezuka with a grim face. He would punish the prideful boy for trying to take away his Fuji! He was going to marry him, not that Mituli boy or that purple monster!
“Mitsu…” crooned Fuji happily, touched by the fact that Tezuka would go off to fight the brown mountain and the purple monster for his sake. “Don’t get injured!”
“Well, now that our men our out to fight, shall we talk, Syuusuke?” asked Yukimura, extending a hand out to Fuji. “And Tezuka, I won’t steal Fuji away… I have Genichirou to take care of, after all~”
Grunting, Tezuka turned towards what seemed like a mob coming towards them. Marching forward into them, he started to help drive them off, ignoring the prick of something that disapproved of Fuji going off with another smiling man. He’d just take Fuji back, if that was the case!
-------
Holding hands, Fuji smiled up at Tezuka. “Ne, Mitsu, did you really mean it when you siad that you would marry me?”
“Of course. I would never lie to you, Fuji.”
“Then call me Syuusuke, Mitsu!”
Dropping the other boy off at the Fuji household, Tezuka was about to turn away, saying bye to the other, until something happened. Blushing a little at the fact that he had gotten a kiss on the cheek- Fuji’s excuse was that couples always kissed each other, Tezuka couldn’t help but stutter out a, “S-see you tomorrow, Syuusuke.” He had let his guard down… But it wasn’t so bad when with Fuji.
---------
That night, at the Tezuka household, Tezuka announced, “I said that I would marry Fuji when we get older.”
Everything turned silent, as his parents and grandparents looked at him. “Fuji kissed me on the cheek today.” He also announced happily. “He said that was what couples did.”
Wondering why his relatives weren’t saying anything, Tezuka simply shrugged and thought that they were just shocked by the fact that he had decided on getting married so early. Of course, he didn’t know that it was the fact that it was a boy he had declared he would marry… And his best friend.
That night, Tezuka went to bed, a happy satisfied child. He had defended Fuji from Mituli and that urple monster named Atobe! And he had gotten kissed, and a promise that they would marry! And, of course, Fuji also went to sleep happily, knowing that his future with Kunimitsu was secure.
