So I gave this show a shot, but alas, this will always be my YJ. I'm still pissed that they're calling what's basically a Teen Titans reboot Young Justice. Tim, Bart and Kon *created* Young Justice: it was their team. TTs was Dick and Wally. And that animated!Superboy? So not Kon. This show just... hurts. Yeah, whiny comics fan, I know. =P

Although I have to say I'm rather fond of Kaldur'ahm. And you write Wally well. Also, the Artemis bit amused the hell out of me. ;)

If you're looking into the YJ comics background for background on the show, you don't need to. They're so far apart it's not even funny. And the Dick Grayson you see in YJ is like, a very strange combo of Tim, Dick and Jason: he's not really Dick Grayson, he's just, I dunno, a Robin. M'gann... I can't yet say whether I'm for or against this version of her. Although, if they put in her struggle with her White Martian, I will be impressed as *hell*, and that's not sarcasm talking ( ... )

Yeah, I guess I had the same reservations about Teen Titans, but like...I guess I just accepted that it wasn't supposed to be an animated adaptation of the comics - it was supposed to be a different thing entirely that shared some similarities, and I was confused because people didn't seem to be concerned about the lack of animated representation for "real" Starfire so much as they were angry that the Starfire they chose to represent baked and wasn't an Amazon. I mean, if is about the lack of animated representation for what you'd consider the proper version, I get it - I have a friend who's still upset about the lack of Bart and frankly I'm kinda following her on that one - but for the most part I'm just kinda going with the flow because yeah, these aren't the same characters, or the same settings, but they're good ones and I enjoy them.

Although, considering the stupid shit I get worked up over in shows I love, I'm a little shocked this doesn't bother me more ( ... )
