I love all the ways Sherlock tested the package before he opened it, and the fact that it was a perfect heart (other than the hole).

Here via alchemine, who recommended it. Hah! This is brilliant, the list of ways Sherlock compares the color to other red things (including chemicals one cannot actually spell, much less pronounce, but of course Sherlock can), the list of ways to test the box, the list of observations he makes about the contents. You get the sense of his million-mile-an-hour brain, and his interaction with John was spot-on. Well done!
