Our euthanasia rate is extremely low compared to most shelters in the nation. The current rate is below 10%. If our animals don't get adopted, they go to no-kill rescue shelters across the midwest. Most of the animals that were euthanized were due to health/illness or severe behavioral issues. However, we have people in the county that don't necessarily agree with that number. They'd rather euthanize everything that comes in just to make space, and on top of that, they give pit bulls a terrible stigma that they will always carry with them.
