OK, another survey.

I stole this from Teresa.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?

Legally drank in the States. Dumped someone. Fell in love. Had my heart broken. Presented a research project at a symposium. Been a senior in college.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Honestly, I'm not sure I made any...I have no recollection of what they were.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

If they did, I was not informed.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?

The United States of America.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

A decent GPA. A lack of concussions.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Um. June 22nd was pretty epic.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Summer Fellows was pretty big. Actually surviving my tsunami of a summer was big, actually.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Getting a concussion hours after my mother told me not to hit my head this year. That was failtacular.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Oh. You're serious? Would you like an enumerated list, or what?

Two concussions, each with retrograde amnesia. Tendonitis and plantar facsiitis in my right ankle. A sprained left ankle, twice. A sprained left wrist. And numerous various cuts and bruises. I think that's it.

Oh wait. Illness. Right. Well, I was sick for nine weeks spring semester with a sinus infection that kept getting misdiagnosed. Then I was well for a week, then I got bronchitis.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

All my movies are pretty sweet. And books. Probably, though, my letters. I get to pass them down, you know? Good stuff.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Oh goodness. Everyone who put up with me. Sara, Joanna, Nicole, Dave, Mike...everyone.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Appalled and depressed...my brothers and my mom. Mainly.

14. Where did most of your money go?

I have no idea. I think some of it just went POOF and dissipated, never to be seen again.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Much as I hate to admit it, Breaking Dawn. Also, MyFY was awesome. I always get revved up to perform.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?

"Pop, Lock and Drop It," Baby Huey. "We Fit Together," O-Town. "Leave the Pieces," the Wreckers. "Cyclone," Baby Bash ft. T-Pain. "Gravity," Sara Bareilles. "Mamma Mia," from Mamma Mia!

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier? I'm usually pretty happy. I'm not sure. I don't think so, actually, but I'm getting there.
ii thinner or fatter? Gee, thanks for this. I'm coming off 4 months of no cardio. So I'm fatter. But I'm allowed to begin to go back to my masochistic exercising style, so hopefully, that too will change.
iii richer or poorer? I'm dirt po'.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Living in the moment. Running. Writing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Crying. Wasting time. Taking things for granted.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I spent it in PA. With my family. Yeah.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?

Yes

23. How many one-night stands?

It's really none of your business. I don't want to talk about it.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Heroes. Lost. Whose Line is It Anyway. The Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock. Also I now love House.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Um. I don't think so. I can't think of anyone I hate. I'm bad at hating people.

26. What was the best book you read?

Um. I really liked "The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing." And "Stardust."

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Indie music. That I didn't already know about. Also, Sara Bareilles is freaking AMAZING.

28. What did you want and get?

Um. I got most of what I wanted for Christmas?

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Oh goodness. Juno's pretty good. I don't remember what came out this year. OH. DARK KNIGHT HOLY JESUS.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you

I turned 21 this year, and got taken out to a bar that night. I also felt rather ill during practice.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Maybe if my Honors/Independent Study thing had actually panned out. Also if I hadn't had two semesters from hell in a row, with a very rough summer in between. That would have been cool.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?

Fashion concept? Um. Jeans and t-shirts are comfortable, so I wear them. Is that a concept?

34. What kept you sane?

My friends and my journal. And crying can actually help. Who knew?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Dear NPH. Why are you gay? You make me so sad.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

All the bigoted things passed during the election (Prop 8, etc). Keeping Sarah Palin out of federal office and getting Obama in.

37. Who did you miss?

Lots of people. High school friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Well, I got to know Ryan, B. Rose, K. Gray and that crew better, which is awesome. Oh, and Cassie/Cody/Sarah are a trifecta of cool. Also, there are some pretty cool freshmen on the track team.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:

Um. Live in the moment. Value what you have.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

"The one thing I still know is that you're keeping me down." But not anymore.

Enjoy that if you wish. New Year's at the Wagners' was loads of fun. And I'm going to bed now. I'm finally sleepy.

Farewell, all.
