I've been looking at a lot of the posts on the Pregnant forum, just out of curiosity and good old procrastination.  A lot of the posts come from Americans

It's a perplexing problem. Hillary's attempt to fix it early in the Clinton administration died a fiery death. The only thing she managed was to ensure that pregnancy would not be a "pre-existing condition" for insurance purposes, so you can't be denied coverage. You can, however, be charged and arm and a leg for the insurance. If my father hadn't had insurance we'd be looking at $2 million in bills now.

That's pretty friggin' scary. Maybe if they spent less money on Iraq and more on their own people...
