Christmas time

Dec 24, 2007 20:06

Today and tonight were wonderful.  Not just watching my nieces and nephew tear into their gifts ecstatically, but also going to the children's mass with the whole family, where my nieces were a part of the mass. One was an angel, and one sang in the choir. Plus, getting to watch my nephew during mass, and trying to keep him quiet and entertained. ( Read more... )

that's great that you had a great Christmas eve. And exciting that you and Brian may become their legal guardians if anything should happen. When my sister and i were little, our aunt and uncle were our legal guardians (haha, guess it's not an issue anymore!). it was comforting knowing that my closest aunt and uncle would be there for my sister and i "if" something happened

Thanks Laura. Yeah I love those kids so much. They are a blast to be around and I would do anything for them.

How are you doing?

They are our babysitters? I don't get it. And if you mean that they have given me baby practice, I have literally had that since I was 12. I used to change Mandy's diapers, and I started babysitting when I was around 13 or so. Sarah and I were the community babysitters for a long time and we would watch children of all ages, from 8 months old to 9 years. As we got older, the age of the children got a little older, but I assure you I have had ample practice at changing diapers, and feeding infants, and entertaining children. Ashtyn, Payton, Gabe, Maren, Elise plus my three friends' kids have just fine-tuned my skills. ;)~

Maybe we will start trying this year. Although Abigail is too old to play with any children we might have. So are you hinting at wanting a playmate for some new bundle of joy coming your way, perhaps? ;)

N/m I think I get what you're trying to say. But I wouldn't have been confused if you had said "Ashtyn and Payton WILL BE your babysitters." ;)~ This implies future babies to watch. Saying they are, had me thinking you were talking about them watching me and Brian, like you were mocking us in some weird way, or mocking my parenting skills.

Well, they ARE your baby sitters when you start having kids. Jeeze, I wouldn't try to mock you OR the man you stole from me.
