Our Goodbyes - a Triolet

Our Goodbyes

Finding hope within those eyes
and once having faith in this love,
I fell pray to your lies
finding hope within those eyes.

Now as we give our goodbyes
I feel that I’m tired of
finding hope within those eyes
and once having faith in this love.

About the form Triolet
The Triolet (pronounced "tree-o-lay") consists of two quatrains (four lined stanzas). The stanzas can be separated or written together as one long verse. Multiple Triolet may also be strung together to form a longer poem if desired. With the Triolet there is a pattern of repetition, in which the first line is repeated twice and the second line one. The form is as below:

First stanza:
Line 1 A
Line 2 B
Line 3 a (rhymes with line 01)
Line 4 A (repeat of line 01)

Second stanza:
Line 5 a (rhymes with line 01)
Line 6 b (rhymes with line 02)
Line 7 A (repeat of line 01)
Line 8 B (repeat of line 02)
