FIRSTLY, DO YOU GUYS WANT TO KEEP DOING AWARDS LIKE THIS WHERE WE PICK SPECIAL CATEGORIES? I LIKED IT BUT THE ONLY WAY WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THEM IS IF WE HAVE 20+ ENTRIES THAT WEEK. I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN AWARDING EXTRA AWARDS FOR A LOWER AMOUNT OF ENTRIES. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK IN COMMENTS.

I like the idea of the additional awards, personally. But, I wonder if it may be a good idea to mention the special awards when the challenge is posted instead after it's all said and done. That was suggested to me over at triwizard_cup, and I'm going to try it next time I do a challenge.

Just a thought. But yeah, I went a long way to say yes, I like the extra awards. :p

Yeah but I'm not going to put up extra awards if we don't get at least 20 entries. So if it comes to voting and we don't have that amount we don't do them. And I think we'd only do coloring and cropping unless you have other suggestions. AND YOU REALLY NEED TO GET A MSGR. :D

That makes sense to only do them when the amount warrants it.

Special categories are cool. But like you said, there's no point if there isn't that many icons. In my communities, I usually go by the number of people entering that week. If there's more than 4-5 participants, then I'll have at least one special category. More participants, more categories. LOL Because it makes me happy that as many people as possible place.

Best Coloring and Best Cropping are most often. I also have Most Original (or Best Composition) sometimes. There's also Best Use of Resource (as in texture, brushes, text, etc.) or some people have Best Use of Text. I also did Best Black & White few times, when there's more than few b&w icons.

And, if it's a theme challenge... Best Use of Theme comes in handy as well. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I really think we'll stick to amt of entries because 20 entries is roughly 5 ppl if they enter four reach so it's not that much to do. And I really like the suggestions for the special ones. I'd like to mix them up occasionally but Best Coloring and Cropping generally work for most themes but doing others once in a while is good.
