Lousiana, Mississippi, and the other areas fucked up were so poor to begin with and then this shit happens. I think by "anarchy" on the streets they mean "poor black people are on the streets because they're houses are even more devastated than before." I just don't think the leadership in this situation or the rest of the country understand how changing this is. 3 months to clean up?! Please, it'll be years. I wonder if this will force people to finally deal with the millions of people living in poverty in that part of the country. I feel like people are so blind to domestic poverty and that's compounded with peoples' general negative opinions about black folks and the South. I just feel hurt and totally tense and worried for these people and their communities.
