Oh yeah, I should've been more specific. It usually refers to hot springs at resorts, I think. I'm not sure. I've never been to one.

So I guess the building part of it would be like ..a bathhouse or maybe a hotel, if it's that sort of thing? Maybe someone else can tell you more.

Onsen refers specifically to a hot spring or hot-spring-like indoor bath, but a lot of times people include the inn or surrounding bath area in the connotation.
