Founded in 1202, Notre-Dame de Beauport used to be one of the most powerful abbeys of Britanny, but time took its toll. Plundered during the Revolution and 19th century, Beauport was one of the buildings saved by Prosper Mérimée and classified as "historical monument".
Not all the buildings are, properly speaking, ruins, but those of the abbey
