"...Wright, currently in town shooting the Toronto-set Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley).."

I'm experiencing inexpressible glee here.

...Dampened slightly by the casting choices. Michael Cera for Pilgrim? Really? Really? Also, Superman as an evil ex is kind of amusing, but a little old for the part. ( Read more... )

*joins you in expressing glee*

Oh man, I hope this turns out well.

Um... I, sadly, saw large portions of Superbad (blame Ben), which featured Michael Cera, and he might be able to pull it off. Scott is kinda pathetic, really, when he's not being really awesome. I dunno, we'll see.

Also, I think Brandon Routh as an evil ex while odd due to his age, is bloody awesome/hilarious.

It's not that, Pilgrim is often very pathetic, that doesn't bother me. he's supposed to be.

It's just, isn't there anyone other than Cera to play these types of characters? Good lord. I don't even mind the dude (Wooh, Arrested Development ), but now Scott Pilgrim is just "one of the many exactly identical iterations of the character that Michael Cera always fucking plays on screen" instead of Scott Pilgrim.
