Thank you! The deal was that Arthur gets to be human for as long as Alfred is alive. When Alfred dies, Arthur too will die and returns to his duty as an angel. They are not living together like they had been before, so Arthur really does carry Alfred's soul. Though I'm sure they still can communicate...somehow. ;D
