Today it snowed heavily on campus. A few ventured outside to throw snowballs at one another but within minutes they were struggling back towards the building, the blood icily trickling through their limbs. Two didn't make it back. They won't thaw till march ( Read more... )

long time? long time? i'll give you long time. I haven't gone out in the evening for... since... um... TWO WEEKS!! and that was just to the pub.

How i crave normal human contact. and beer. i crave beer.

My advice against the cold: fat.
The warm feeling of molten chip fat flowing through your veins... now THAT is central heating for kids.

only stayed out for about an hour, it was rubbish. Everyone i know still at this uni was out but that amounted to about 4 people. Dammit.

I need a haircut. People just won't take me seriously asnymore looking like this!

It's snowing here too! it's bloody freezing - at least your buildings have central heating. I could see my own breath when sitting in my appartment last night. All the teachers are huddled round a kerosene heater in the staff room. INSTALL SOME CENTRAL HEATING YOU IDIOTS!!

Oh and it's alright for those driving to work in cars. I have to ride my bike and be greeted by "oh it's cold isn't it? did you ride your bike to school?' YES I RODE MY BLOODY BIKE TO SCHOOL!! YOU WON'T LET THE STUPID FOREIGNER DRIVE JUST IN CASE HE KILLS HIMSELF AND YOU HAVE TO PAY LOADS OF INSURANCE MONEY! YES I BLOODY RODE MY BIKE TO SCHOOL AND YOU BLOODY WELL KNOW IT!

I'm getting onto Oxfam to send over a tonne of Reddybrek - central heating for kids! The school will be toasty warm in no time...

About the nut-chillingly cold bike ride to school though - the only answer is to introduce that famous British tradition of Fagging to your school - get those kids to warm the toilet seat before you, make you tea and muffins, and so on. They'll love the eccentric ways of the british public school system! Especially when you demand they carry you to school in your fur-lined sedan chair. Hmm. it's worth a shot, i say.
