i'm reading this book i got in the states:
how to be an effective teacher: the first days of school by harry k. wong and rosemary t. wong

it's great! it has sooo much good advice! it's also a little overwhelming though because there are so many things you need to do in order

I'm wondering how high school will go as well. Thats good they are more afraid of getting into trouble, lol.

Its in a way my first year of real teaching, since the Wando Foregin Language Center probably didn't count. Since we were doing random stuff with random students. So I have no idea really what its like to teach a consistent amount of students over the course of a year.

I guess there were some students I saw consistently, but most of my classes were one time deals.

as an english teacher in korea you still won't be a "real" teacher lol and by real teacher i mean one like back home (canada, u.s., etc.)

as a high school teacher you will generally have to do more "real" teacher work than an elem. teacher here - because elem. teachers are usually beholden to the retarded textbook.

anyway, it should be a better experience than at the english town. good luck! - randi
