I thought of the frightful chambers and corridors and inclines as I recalled them from my dreams. (from The Shadow Out of Time by H.P. Lovecraft, in "Shadows of Death" a collection of H.P. Lovecraft's tales)

Incorrect, I only brought two books to Italy with one. One of them is called Imperium by Robert Harris and it deals with Cicero.

The other is the Shadows of Death by H.P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft writes some dark but cool stuff though sometimes I find it clunky and wordy (kind of like Charles Dickens).

Oddly enough, whenever I try writing short stories I think of Poe and Lovecraft as my greatest inspirations (though I've only recently gotten in to Lovecraft).

oddly enough, despite those as your inspirations, when you read my short story you thought it was too depressing and dark....oh the irony...

(ps. if you get two messages about this its cause I accidentally put it up with my GOB Magician icon...highly inappropriate...)

Guess who my author happened to be! bmwdevchandler2 November 24 2008, 02:59:06 UTC
"'Smith has not much above a hundred acres altogether in his grounds, which is little enough, and makes it more surprising that the place can have been so improved.'" from Mansfield Park by Jane Austen (Like your surprised in the author that happens to be closest to me physically haha)

by the way this proved to be more difficult than appeared as all the sentances before this one were superlong and comprised of numeros colons, commas, and the like....go Austen!

How was the book nearest me the lamest response ever? It's only been the most beat-up book I've ever owned, tossed in my backpack, spine cracked from fighting with Adobe Flash to make a project work correctly, bent cover.

But actually, it sounds like you're drunk.
