I am not a very religious person. However I believe that God exists. To my mind it helps to explain some supernatural things that take place in our world

Yes, it is. It is one of my favourite places in Central Russia. Considering the fact that I adore traveling and've seen a lot of places around I know what to advise for people to visit :)
I like it :) Churches in Russia are the most ancient buildings. There's something about them... energy, power. I don't feel that in the brand new churches though. But it doesn't make me Christian Ortodox fanatic. I respect all religions, muslim, hinduism and pagan religions and even having no religion at all. To me the freedom of conscience, freedom of speech and tolerance are the greatest values.
How come that people who are not baptized are going to burn in hell, even if they are good people?
I don't know what religion says that, but the bible does not teach that. What makes you a Christian (and saves you from hell) is giving your life to Him, asking into your heart to be your Lord and Saviour and repenting of your sins. Baptism is merely an outward declaration of your faith. It is not essential!
And how come that Almighty God can deal with people only through priests? If he is Almighty he can hear anybody’s voice and thought anytime.
You are correct. All you have to do is pray. If you really want to know Him, He will make Himself known to you and guide you.
Dear Julia, you can find all the answers to your questions in the Bible. There was a time when i had the same questions. Answers won't come out of thin air. You have to apply at least some effort to find these answers... It's difficult to get a clear notion about this subject, if you don't read the Bible, don't read some literature, don't talk to priests. It doesn't mean that i don't have questions, i have millions of them, but i managed to find at least some answers-)) By the way, here is an extract from the book "Братья Карамазовы": "Жила-была одна баба злющая-презлющая и померла.

Thank you for such an attention to my entry :) I do believe in God, I have never said I didn't. I just don't think that keeping Lent, wearing a skirt when you go to the church (I talk about Orthodox mostly) or repeating prayers is really important to Him. What we do and what kind of people we are truly matters.
I love that book of Dostoevsky! I think Brothers Karamazov is his greatest book, better than famous Crime and Punishment. It shows real, not spoiled Russian menthality of old times. Also this book has a lot of wise parables in it. And it is simply interesting to read to my mind.

Orthodox is known as tougher religion than Catholic or Baptist.
