We only had three days, so we gave the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower a miss (though we saw the tower in the distance on our way to the airport) and saw the catacombs, the Musee d'Orsay, the Cluny, and the Musee de l'erotisme (no, I'm not kidding). The queue for the rooftop walk of Notre-Dame moved so slowly we gave up, but the building was worth seeing from ground level.

I swear, having gone twice, the best view of the Eiffel Tower is the one directly beneath it looking up.

Eiffel Tower is a must for me. I like to climb things. Also want to go where they shot Duran Duran's "View to a Kill" clip -- but don't tell Cat.

Musee Cluny, the decorative ceilings of 2 major department stores, Musee des Arts et Metiers, Musee d'archaeologie nationale (a train from Paris, but worth it), Fontainbleau and Musee Condee at Chantilly (also trains from Paris and also worth it),

One of thse may help: http://www.parismuseumpass.com/en/home.php

If you were going for longer I would suggest more things!

I so miss Paris...

Oh yes! The musee cluny is amazing, it has the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries in it for one and heaps of medieval artefacts. Bit like the V & A medieval section. The Carnavalet is also pretty cool, like the Museum of London but is the Museum of Paris.
