I'd choose New England for my Kirsty Maccoll and make space for 'Hard Times' by Emmy Lou Harris and one of Jennifer Warne's Leonard Cohen covers

it's a tough call -- I think because I remain sufficiently traumatised by the 12" version of New England I went with the Smiths' cover (and the kudos of having Johnny Marr play on it).

I could have taken the list to 10, easily, but that's the challenge of the top 5...
