Zara has been making preliminary patterns for all of the clothes for Cyrano's play, but she still needs to do measurements on the cast. So she is waiting in Bedwyr's house, sitting at the table with cloths spread across it, waiting for people to arrive and get fitted.

Anybody else who happens by is welcome to come in and get sworn at.

Just what we were thinking.

"Or maybe they've been spending too much time inside, and not enough outside."

He puts it a bit more delicately.

"Mebbe there ent nothing worth seeing outside."

Maybe you need to GET A LIFE.

"How would you know, if you haven't gone?"

Yet again, putting it a bit more mildly.

"Have so gone. Got killed, didn't I? Killed dead."

"Getting killed might indeed reduce your ardor, but should it not foster your taste for life, rather?"

Helpfully.

He'll be disturbed by the talking-to-a-dead-person phenomenon later.

"No," bluntly.

"Then do you wish you were dead, still?"

"Some days."

He shakes his head.

"And other days?"

But Zara is through being semi-vulnerable, and she steers him towards the door with her too-thin arms. "Other days I got work t'be doing. Get on."

He laughs, charmingly so.

"Very well, Zara. On one condition, I grant you peace."

"What now?"

"If you get to one of those days, where you wish you did not live, promise to seek me out."

He doesn't look like he's taking it lightly either, Zara.

She looks at him disbelievingly. "Like hell I will."

"Like hell you will, indeed." He's dead serious. "You may have the tongue of a viper and be as spiky as one of your own needles, but I like you. So. Like hell you will."

"I got people besides you," with all the contempt she can muster. "I got him who keeps me. And Florian, if I wanted."
