I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to certain types of modifications and was wondering, is the skin numbed before this is done? What about in cases where the tongue is split? Just wondering because I am such a wuss!

We used topical anesthetic for this. It only really lasts an hour though. The peel itself took about 2 hours.
