My British history prof. made a snide comment about London when I told him (he also hates Oxford--I think he must have gone to Cambridge). I explained that I'd originally planned on Scotland, and the professor and his Irish GSI started saying that's even worse than London :P (They specifically targeted Edinburgh because the professor's niece is going there.)

(I just thought to look and I was wrong, he did his BA and PhD at Manchester and taught there until he came to Berkeley. You can hear it in his accent.)
