Shizaya, Raijin Days, Horror AU
When Izaya was little, like 9-10 years old, he was targeted and attacked by some terrifying supernatural creature that goes after/eats/takes children. Can be a creature from actual legend, something of OP's own making, or something from pop culture. Some ideas I like would be Slender Man, something like the Beldam from Coraline, or the Pale Man from Pan's Labrynth. But in essence some horrifying eldritch being. This thing has a taste for/tendency to go after children that feel unwanted and alone. Children like Izaya. But Izaya is exceptionally clever and smart, even as a small child and he's able to trick it and hurt it/trap it so he can escape, but only by like, the skin of his teeth. He just barely manages it, and the entire experience terrifying and traumatic. Years pass and Izaya never tells anyone what happened, not even Shinra. It's this experience that makes him so wary of non human creatures like Celty and humans that display inhuman abilities like Shizuo. In fact when they first met Celty had to work pretty hard to convince him she wasn't going to harm Shinra.
When he's around 16/17, the creature returns with the intent of finishing what it started. Izaya was such a bright lovely child and he grew into an even lovelier teenager and its rather looking forward catching its prey. Plus its pissed that he managed to escape. And Izaya, for the second time in his life, it absolutely terrified and desperate. He doesn't want to face this alone but he doesn't think there's anyone who can or would help him and as much was he won't admit it he does actually care about Shinra and Dotachin and even Shizu-chan and doesn't want this THING to gets its hands on them and he absolutely will not allow it to touch his sisters no matter what he has to do.
What happens next is up to anon. Feel free to go as dark as you want, but in the end I do want a happy ending where everyone is still alive and mostly sane and mostly in one piece. If anon actually manages to creep me out/scare me then I will marry them cause that hasn't happened in a while.

During high school, Delic and Izaya were the greatest and best of all friends. Delic was Shizuo's older twin brother. Shizuo and Izaya were enemies and both hated each other. When they got out of high school, Izaya became an informant. Delic became one of Izaya's secretary and also took a part time job as a host. Shizuo had shuffled between many jobs before finally sticking to becoming a body guard to a debt collector. Now, here's where it gets more interesting.
A few weeks after high school ended, Izaya realized that his hate for Shizuo was just misunderstood love. He realized that he had accidentally fell in love with Shizuo. Confused and a bit unsure of what to do, Izaya talked to Delic about it and since then Delic had been giving Izaya advice about Shizuo. The thing is, Delic is in love with his best pal, Izaya. He envies Shizuo for holding Izaya's heart without even knowing it. Shizuo doesn't like it that his brother is working for Izaya, but Shizuo puts up with it. Still, Shizuo hates Izaya of course.
When Shizuo was still working as a bartender, Izaya told Delic of a day he was planning on going to visit him at the bar he worked at. Delic got jealous of this and framed Shizuo for a crime he didn't commit that very day. Izaya just happened to be there at the bar when Shizuo was getting arrested, and immediately, Shizuo put the blame on Izaya, who was actually in truth innocent.
Finally, one day during one of their usual chasing game, Izaya led Shizuo to an abandoned alley. He allowed himself to get caught by Shizuo before Izaya confessed his feelings to Shizuo. Shizuo didn't believe him and only scoffed it off, convinced that Izaya was just acting again. He insulted and directed rude comments to Izaya, like 'Hah, like I would ever love a selfish bastard like you' and some more comments along those lines. After he finishes, Shizuo raises his fist to punch Izaya, but he's a bit surprised when Izaya suddenly shoves him away and angrily walks away. Shizuo is surprised at the sudden action but just shrugs it off soon enough and leaves the alley himself.
Izaya tells Delic about this while crying. Delic happily comforts Izaya, whispering words of reassurance to the raven. After Izaya falls asleep and Delic tucks him into bed, Delic angrily makes his way home (he shares an apartment in Ikebukuro with Shizuo) and confronts Shizuo about it. Shizuo is surprised before he begins to shout back. The two of them gets into a huge argument about Izaya before Delic finally admits that he Izaya has always been in love with Shizuo but was always scared of getting rejected. Shizuo is takin by surprise at the sudden comment, losing all of his anger as he realized that Izaya actually did love him. Shizuo is left speechless as Delic leaves and heads back to Izaya's place in Shinjuku. Shizuo spends the next week thinking and trying to organize his feelings out for Izaya, who had not shown in Ikebukuro since. Then, he realizes that he's always been in love with Izaya
Whew, long request. Anyway, just so you know, I won’t mind nearly any kind of ending as long as it ends with the happy couple Delic and Izaya and a broken hearted Shizuo. Look, I’ve read SO MANY stories where Izaya is left heartbroken by Shizuo, left with nothing and all alone by himself and so on while Shizuo continues to live a happy life. THIS TIME, I want it to be Shizuo to be the miserable one and Izaya who continues to live a happy life. So basically:
Delic's one sided love to Izaya and Izaya's one sided love to Shizuo -> Heartbroken!Izaya -> Delic comforting hurt!Izaya -> Shizuo finds out he's in love with Izaya -> Izaya rejects Shizuo -> Shizuo hurt and Izaya and Delic live happily together
