So you know how Izaya is always saying he's a god and calling Shizu-chan a monster? Well, it turns out Izaya is actually a god. A trickster god in fact. A god of chaos and change. And Shizuo is actually an extremely powerful monster/demon of lore. What he displays to the humans and friends in Ikebukuro is not even a fraction of a fraction of his real strength. Guy could destroy planets if he wanted to.
Not only are they incredibly powerful immortal beings, but they're also married. They've been married for over a millenia now. They have like a ton of children. And grandchildren. And great grand children. And great great grandchildren. And descendants in general. (Izaya's a natural shapeshifter, giving himself a vagina was easy. Hell there were times where he spent whole centuries as a woman just because he could). Their chases are just their way of flirting. Their relationship is actually considered one of the most stable, loving, and healthy in the supernatural world. Hell, even when they actually have a real argument (which isn't often) and not just bickering/play fighting/flirting, everyone in the spirit planes knows if you fuck with one the other will respond with immediate, horrifying, and creative vengeance.
So how did they end up stuck in two human bodies in Tokyo, Japan? Who's out to get them, what are they planning and how are our dynamic duo and friends going to save the world and possibly all of existence? Why did they keep it a secret and pretend to be human enemies these past ten years?
Pairing - Shizaya and Izuo, switching, because lets be honest here they've been married over a 1000 years, they were courting each other for nearly as long as that, they've had sex in every way it's possible to have sex. They've even invented a few. And yet they'll never get bored of each other.

- Nobody actually knows how they even met in the first place. They're from completely different mythologies from parts of the world that didn't even have contact until a few hundred years ago. Anytime someone asks Shizuo, he just growls that it's none of their business and the subject is hurriedly dropped, and Izaya will just make up a wildly different and crazy story whenever he's asked.
