Android sideloading for LDS apps russj May 28 2012, 21:47:17 UTC
I got a response last week from the LDS church.
It is possible to 'sideload' the LDS apps without using the app store.
Just open the following page in your tablet's web browser:

https://tech.lds.org/wiki/Android_Sideloading

You need to make sure that your tablet "Settings" are configured to "Allow Installation of Applications from Unknown Sources".

First, download the apps.
Next, open the browser's "Downloads" page and run the installer.
After running the installer, you must then select & download the scriptures and study helps online.

The entire process takes several minutes, mainly to download the content.
