i'm actully glad to see you interested in ffxiv. i was wondering if you would be. i do the same thing with the music actually. tsk tsk @ us. looking forward to playing this game! i'm pretty fucking sick of WoW tbh. 3.2 looks like absolute garbage D;
All of that becomes boring and you play less and less until you're just logging on to raid.
FFXI has become the same, really, unless you're into oldschool HNM, which isn't much the norm now. Plus being from our era, we kind of already have everything we want. So you end up just logging on for specific events and then... That's it.
Of course, this ties in to the fact the FFXI's gear never improves. The shit from 2004 is still the best shit *now*.
I imagine if SE actually made you camp new HNM the way you had to camp the old ones that it's time consumption would be at the peak.
Half interested in ffxiv. Probably will only go back if S-EX gives NA their own servers. No offense to the JPs, but after WoW I doubt I can go back to using the auto translator and うはwwおkww'ing.
I prefer having JP on the same server, even though the communication fucking blows, the economy is generally better. You can log in at 3AM and get items on AH for dirt cheap compared to normal NA hours where everything is absolutely gouged. It's ridiculous.
That being said, if I learned anything going into FFXIV, it's that I won't level RDM again. I still regret it to this day, having never quit the lousy game. WoW felt like a step down for me.
I'm with you Klisk, not having an 'offpeak' is a big plus for me since my schedule is crazy/erratic. And S-E did already confirm the servers would be shared again~
I dunno, maybe I just quit too early before the NAs/JPs integrated better (if they ever did), but memories of pretending to be a JP and putting JP search comments just so I could avoid partying with retard NAs is pretty fresh in my mind ...
If FF14 was a job system version of WoW, that dropped PVP for a more focused and challenging PVE game I think half the population of WoW would be playing it within 3 years.

If I wasn't living the stupid way I was back then
Are you calling me stupid? :<
Actually, I don't think FFXIV is going to be as life-consuming, but likewise I don't sleep so I might actually make it that way.
