Honor thy mother and thy father?

Larkin’s poem is an example of great literature.  It deals with a universal theme of parenting from the viewpoint of the child who, regardless of the effort of the parent, feels they fail them. i really liked your unique take on this poem, your insight was very different than other especially the biblical ties.

I like the way you use the example of the french toast in "Simple Recipes"; I think you are definitely on the right track, though I'd like perhaps to see a little more development. Nice work, overall.
