I am slightly confused, because for some reason I read it as a sequel to No King But A Castle, which I probably shouldn't have.

Great Nooj/Paine as always, but I felt compelled to comment this time simply because of trying to think of this in context with the other fic.

I don't think I've ever really written Nooj/Paine that was anything more than a few sentences, so that you think it was good makes me happy.

She forgives you. She forgives you A LOT. :D

I love what you do with their voices, and with Paine's thoughts -- how she can see his face without looking, and how you describe her past arguments with Nooj and with Rikku. I can just see the two of them interacting this way, maintaining this careful space between them, trying hard not to say too much. Excellent.
