I enjoyed reading your interview, rusty_armour. The research you did was interesting. I'm impressed, as always, by your expertise and professionalism. (I hope that doesn't sound patronizing.) Your story is intriguing, particularly the combination of medical mystery and traditional Sherlock Holmes mystery.

Oh, good! I'm glad that you enjoyed it! :-D

The research you did was interesting.

It certainly was. I think I go a bit overboard, but I really want to get those historical details right if at all possible. And when you're dealing with a certain medical issue, you need to be able to accurately portray various symptoms, etc. Then, of course, there's the usual kind of research that needs to be done. What kind of horse-drawn vehicle would they use to travel from the train station? What's the architectural style of the house that they're visiting? The list goes on and on.

I take it as a compliment. :-) I think if you do enough research into a historical period, you do start becoming a bit of an expert whether that's your intention or not. I don't really feel like a professional, though I'll be getting paid for my story, so that literally makes me a professional...sort of. *g ( ... )
