Mini Fic/Birthday Card for jackycomelately
Dr. Rodney McKay rushed toward his team, brimming with excitement. “Hey, guys! jackycomelately’s birthday is coming up in a couple of days, and I think I’ve come up with the perfect way to celebrate it this year!”
“What?” McKay said. “Why are you all looking at me like that?”
“Rodney, have you forgotten what happened last year when you planned a birthday party for jackycomelately?” Teyla asked.
McKay stared blankly at Teyla. “What do you mean?”
“Are you telling us that you’ve forgotten about that hidden cache of Ancient beer that we found?” Sheppard said, barely managing to hide a smirk.
Ronan made no attempt to hide his mirth. “Or the massive hangover that you had for three days?”
McKay looked away, carefully avoiding eye contact with his team. “Uh…maybe…”
“I tried to warn you, Rodney, but you wouldn’t listen,” Sheppard said. “That ol’ hand of yours was flapping along with your tongue. You said you were Canadian and could handle it without any problem as Canada had real beer, unlike the sissy beer found in America.”
McKay’s lips turned up at the corner. “I don’t remember any of that, but it sounds like something I would say. And it’s absolutely true, of course. Canada has much better beer.”
“Yeah, but even Canadian beer doesn’t have 17% alcohol,” Sheppard said. “Your little round face lit up like a Christmas tree when Zelenka tested it and told you the result.”
Teyla shook her head sadly. “You could have died, Rodney. When John went to check up on you the next day, he couldn’t get you to wake up.”
“We had to use some serious Ancient tech to get you back, McKay,” Sheppard said.
Ronan scowled. “And we ended up having to dump all that awesome beer in the ocean because Woolsey banned it from Atlantis.”
Teyla smiled gently at McKay. “Perhaps it would be best if someone else were to plan the birthday celebration this year.”
“Or maybe we should just send a card to jackycomelately instead,” McKay said.
