It is very angsty, I'm sorry. It's really based more on my own experiences than anything, and I just adapted it slightly so it would work as a fic, since I'm too self-conscious to be that honest about how I feel about things. If that makes any sense :-/
I like it better when they're together too, and I would love to write happy fluff, angst just comes more naturally to me. I'll see what I can do though! After this week I won't be as swamped with work, so maybe I'll try to come up with a cute fluffy idea and see if I can write something decent. Keep an eye out.

It does make sense. I think it's perfectly legitimate to express your feelings through fiction, even if it is crappy that you have to experience such things.

i didn't initially intend for it to be about them, it started out as just me venting about my life, then i decided to add a little to make to fit them cause it's easier than dealing with the real-life situation.
