"Or maybe just a very low sugary fluff tolerance."
QFT.
My sugary-fluff tolerance is moderated by story that I find relevant and interesting and/or the fluff is Just. That. Silly. (See Also: I still want to finish Princess Tutu even though I'm barely halfway through it.)
CCS never engaged with me. To be fair I was seeing it on television while I was in college, but I put it with Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh: Stuff my friends enjoyed, probably because they were high at the time. ;)
My excuse for Sailor Moon is the fact that I was 10 at the time. And then nostalgia thereafter.
Also, Princess Tutu gets better. It's already good- it gets better. I should show you the Hold Me Now video someday. It's kind of the quintessential Princess Tutu AMV.
