woop woop, firstly flying is the funest thing ever! especailly in dire conditions! the flight back from schipol was brilliant, coming into gatwick we had some of the worst turbulance, i could see the wing shaking and whipping about in the wind and the plane was constanly dipping and rocking around really violently. Just before landing there was one last huge dip to the side and i thought we were going to smack into the run way, but we just landed and bounced a few times n the plane had to use reverse thrusters to stop (accoding to my dad) so they was loads of water sprayinfg up of the runway making so much fricking noise! and then everyone cheered and whooped the pilot!
Amsterdam was brilliant, me and luke didn't have enough time to go every where we wanted, and do everything we wanted to do! On the first day, we arrived at schipol airport at about 8am local time, and we got the train to amsterdam central on a double decker train (wierd), which are aparently all the rage in europe according to Luke. I've never seen so many bikes in my life, out side central station there was rows and rows of them, a sea of bikes! i swear they put them their to cement amsterdam as "the city of bikes" as it is called, because some of the bikes didn't even have seats on them! and looked about 50 years old!
we checked into our hotel, called the falcon plaza on valkenburgerstraat, and it was so close to the city center we didn't have to pay for transport at all! when we dropped our bags off, we just went wondering round, went into the red light district which was fun lol checked out on of the local sex shops displaying videos entitled "Me and my brothers dog" and "next door's dog", i was thinking about buying jasmine some nipple tassles! lol That night we ate in a gorgous duth resturant, i had vetable consume and djion steak yum yum yum! on the friday we went to the katten kabinet, which bascially was a museum of cat art, including mummified egytian cats! they had 5 real cats living their so i made friends with them.
We went ad looked around, then went to the torture museum near munt plein, where they had this cool clock tower that had loads of bells and played a sweet little song every hour. then we went to a coffee shop called the old amsterdam coffee shop and smoked some purple haze, then went on a feeding rampage, to burger king and subway (Lucky their burger kings are open at midnight!!)
the next day we went to madame tussuads, n we took our picture with various wax works (those pictures are still to come, they need to be developed). the next day, we then went to anne franks hose hich was ver moving and interesting, we went through the bookcase that i have seen a thousand times in books and on television and to the tiny rooms hey occupied where anne had stuck pictures from magazines on the walls, of whih are still there today. They is even markings on the wall where Edith, their mother, marked Anne and Margot's changing heights on the wall. Luke and i found it quite profound as his family is promdominatly german, with realtives who where nazi officers and my family has roots in judaism, which changed when my great grandmother maried a christian.
That evening we went to a japanese resturant and had teppan yaki, where they cook the food in front of you on the huge metal thingys. I've need had a better eal out in m life, it was so nice and a cool experience, we have a picture of our chef lol he was cool. Luke tried sake, i hated it, he loved it.
Then we watched dutch telly in ur room and drank dutch beer and ate dutch chocolate and crisps until 4 in the morning when we had to get a flight from schipol back home. i think i was up for about two days! never been so tired!
