Backstory! Hurrah! And you've come up with internally consistent inheritance and behavior patterns for lycanthropes. Very impressive.

I love the image of young Mycroft wrestling with Sherlock the puppy. I bet no dog on earth has ever intimidated Mycroft Holmes.

I'm very happy that you enjoyed reading this. It's an odd place for me to apply my undergraduate level genetics courses. The lycanthrope genetics in this probably would not stand up to a close inspection by my professors, but I think it's as close as I can explain a virus that is both genetic and infectious. It would be much easier to create a world in which lycanthropy is not infectious and just genetic, but I really wanted the infection possibility to be there for some more world-building potential. And of course, I wanted a situation where Sherlock is the only lycanthrope in the family. It's just more fun that way.

As you probably know, I have taken a lot of inspiration from wild wolves and domestic dog behaviors, health risks, etc. The one thing I don't know how to explain yet is BBCcanon!Sherlock's love for Chinese food.
