Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I am plowing away at chapter 4. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, I would absolutely be open to hearing it and incorporating it into the story somehow.

I'm curious if human lycanthropes have a mating season and how does lycan!Sherlock declare his dominance in the pack.

Ah, two excellent ideas. I am trying to figure out mating seasons. It appears in wild wolf populations, males do not seem to be governed by a "mating season" without females present, if I am not mistaken. From my readings, it seems the female's estrus cycle dictates when mating happens. I could be wrong, however.

John's learning! Good for him! You show his bravery and determination really well here, as well as his care for Sherlock. Every day, John Watson goes home to a creature that confuses and scares him. Twice he has run out of that house, but he keeps coming back. If that isn't bravery, I don't know what is.

Again, I adore Lestrade's lessons in canine behavior.

Thank you for reading and your insightful comments. I'm happy to know that you're enjoying reading John progress from fear to understanding.

If you have any ideas or details you would like to know more in this world, please do let me know. I would love to try to incorporate requests. There is so much world-building that can happen, and I am a little overwhelmed on picking out which ones to talk about.

I'm not gonna lie. I've been refreshing your livejournal page a few times a day hoping for an update. Your world building is A++++++++. (And werewolves are apparently my biggest kink.)Keep up the great work. :)

This is one of the best comments any writer can get (and I can barely say "writer" because this is my first "published" fanfic. Everything else I have written has never been de-anoned). So, thank you.

Do you have any ideas/requests re: world-building? Since I am just starting, basically, and there is so much to expand upon, I am absolutely open to your thoughts and requests. I will try to accommodate as many requests as possible.

You actually turned me into a researching machine. I found out that wolves that are superior will stand over (or sit on) the inferior members of their pack to assert their dominance. I think that could be amusing if Sherlock started doing that to John.

I might have found something else that's interesting but haven't had a chance to read it in full so I'll get back to you on that. ;)

Hah! It's funny what fanfic will do to us. I have learned more about wolf behavior than I ever thought I would from working on this, and now I learned something new. I will definitely work that in somewhere! (Even though Sherlock likes to think himself the superior member of the pack, deep down he knows where John figures into things).

I can't wait to hear what that something else is!
