I agree, the survey was really interesting and I'm so happy you get to write in-depth about these issues! There could be so much (and probably already is) discussion on copyright and intellectual property in fan works. I'm sure the laws involved could get interpreted different ways, and I bet the feelings of the original author/creator on fan works really influences whether there are lawsuits, etc. I'd also love to stay informed about your progress :)

There's surprisingly little formal academic research actually. I'm flying pretty blind on this. Will let you know how it turns out! Thanks for the support.
