I completely understand that. I had a journal before this one that I recently reopened, but when LJ gave the option to go and change all your entries over to friends only or private, I did it. It's a public journal now, but I don't talk about anything personal. TIW has always been friends only. There are a lot of weirdos out there and you have to be able to excercise some control over who gets to know you, in my opinion. :)

It's such a shame, because for years I had a totally open journal... then I had to start protecting some things... and now look at where we are.

Did something happen?

I have a personal journal (this one), an opinion blog (miraclelove) which is public, a health journal that I share with one other person (this way no one on my personal journal has to put up with my downer health posts. lol.), and I have one journal that is incognito that only one other person knows about. No one on that journal knows I am this_is_warmth. There is something fun about anonimity. I get all my needs met with four journals. Personal, public, health and secret. This one has the most friends, though, and where I am most real. I guess I've found a way to make it fun regardless of the trolly weirdos.

I LOVE this layout, by the way. :) I wonder if this coffee icon would go good with it. If you like it, take it... it's from tolly_icons.

I know. It's a sad, sad day in Ruthette land. I never would have made my first LJ friends if my journal hadn't been totally open.

But the time has come.
