I thought I spied one of your canna's just coming up in the back of your herb garden.
Thank you for cooking. It was a delicious birthday.

Very observant. Yes, there's a canna sort of hiding in the back of the garden. I need to trim back that overenthusiastic ornamental grass and bring the cannas forward. I suppose I'll dig them up and store them again this winter. If I can find the others. They did so well last year in front of the grass but they looked sort of silly poking through it.

I mourn the columbines I plucked our first summer, thinking they were weeds. Two came in this year; I should sprinkle some seed whenever one plants columbines. They're pretty!

And they'll also do better with slightly less ornamental grass.

I'm happy with the mints, though other than tabbouleh I don't know what to do with them. The pineapple mint (I think that's what it was?) has come in all fuzzy. I suppose that's what internet search engines are for.

It was lovely having you and j over. I suppose this is what people talk about when they talk about married folks socializing with other couples. We never have, really; most of our friends are singletons. I like both.

Hi!

I appreciate that you keep this journal, because it means I actually manage to stay in touch with you, unlike just about everyone else from YRUU and CUUYAN days.

I've been lucky when it comes to running in to you.

I'm grateful too. Good times. I thought briefly about going to one last CUUYAN event before I aged out...but it's too late now.
