Humacti Central
The source of the undead attack was found to be a lich, which was destroyed. We have returned the body to the Chapel for consecration. Numerous zombies, spirits and a half dozen or so ghouls were also encountered and destroyed. The spirits were animalistic in nature and were possibly created by a black sludge-like substance with was being carried in a cauldron by some ghouls. The cauldron and its contents should also have been returned for investigation. Some of the substance was spilt into a local stream - we dammed the stream to prevent it spreading but, on our way back, the local village reported one of its wells was drying up. Recommend this is investigated and cleansed urgently or they will probably remove the dam and risk contaminating themselves.
We found Humact Rowntree safely holed up in a farmstead but literally needing a hand, as a zombie had cut her's off. She gave us vital information, as well as potions of resistance to disease.

Dear Freddie
I'm aiming this letter to reach you on route so hoping you've kept to your planned itinerary. If not, I'll have probably told you all about it already...
It's always satisfying to go out on patrol and know that you've done a good thing. Yesterday we destroyed a thoroughly unpleasant lich and large numbers of the undead. It feels good to be doing Cadrus' work again after so long feeling I was serving Rhaeteth more - though the Sorceror's powers certainly assisted against the lich and several of its lesser servants.
Even better, I got to meet and patrol with another couple of the local Humacti, as well as a Healer and a Seeker who were also dedicated to destroying the undead. It was very satisfying seeing corrupted spirits being blown away by the cleansing powers of life.
A few of the people I met on my last patrol were there again but most interesting was the Paladin, Glamoria, whose shield had an image of a green, winged unicorn on it. We got a brief chance to chat whilst waiting for some of our fellows to come out of paralysis and she didn't know there were any other unicorn deities out there. I told her a little about the Blessed Ones but hopefully we'll get to meet again on a calmer patrol and chat further. I'll definitely let you know if I learn anything new.
There was also a Champion, a very polite lady by the name of Mistral, who I believe (but was afraid it was rude to ask) might have been from Cathay! I'd heard the occassional visitor was encountered here in Van Heusen's Barony but didn't really expect to meet one myself, especially not on patrol.
Travel safe - may Hevish grant you ...
Yours
