List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.I haven't been listening to a lot of ( Read more... )

what'd you think of hard candy? As in I think you enjoyed it, but I think it's much more of a thing to talk about rather than oh yes, what a great/terrible movie. It was so intense.

ps- sorry I didn't join you for ice blocking.

No worries. It was too cold anyway and the Stater Bros was out of blocks of ice so we just rolled down the hill and went on the swings. :D

And yes intense is the word. It was spectacular in so many ways I can't even figure out where I'd begin going on about it.

Hmm...I've been tagged and I didn't even know it...I don't feel like posting that thing in my journal...I'd have to admit that I don't have seven people to tag...or maybe I just did--changing subject. Music! Yes, music...ummm...

1. The Dark of the Matinee, by Franz Ferdinand
2. Obsession, by Siouxsie and the Banshees
3. Spider Web, by Joan Osborne
4. F**k and Run, by Liz Phair
5. Big in Japan, by Tom Waits
6. Ashes to Ashes, by Apoptygma Berzerk
7. Ruby's Song, by Tweaker

There you are, what songs I could come up with off the top of my head (did you see that? -- three prepositions in a row! I think there's some sort of MLA death penalty for that). Have fun on Valentine's?

Adieu.

I did indeed. That was the first time I've ever actually celebrated Valentine's really. At least that I recall. It's possible I've just blocked experiences from my mind though. Weeee...

I need to buy myself some Tom Waits and I shall look into these other musical funnesses. Thank you.

I heard you went to JT. Was it delightful? I need to make another trip out there sometime soon. Too much time away from that place hurts in a way I really can't explain.

Joshua Tree was indeed delightful...I haven't been in far too long. I have as strong a need to be high up on rocks as near the ocean or in the rain. Guess water and earth are my elements. Ash and I were discussing the possibility of all that quartz as being the reason for the comforting feeling out there. I don't even want to touch the ground -- just want to sit on a rock. It was relaxing. Met a crazy guy the last day who bummed smokes and beer and talked about music and strange stuff...apparently the police tried to kill him, and he's got a lawsuit...maybe. And he got jumped in Yucca Valley...wtf? Who gets mugged in the desert? Anyway, a little extra weirdness for my weekend. Things are generally well. Talk to you soon, yes? Take care...just don't lose it (care is hard to replace).

The rocks and the rain I agree with completely. The ocean and I had a parting of ways at some point during my high school years. I don't remember any specific occurrence but there is a very clear fear now related to the sea. Pools and lakes and such are fine and I've no clear idea of why.

I wouldn't be surprised at all about the quartz but there's something else there as well. There is no where else that I can think of where I have felt more alone and more a part of something, smaller or greater. It is an experience every time but I don't need to tell you that.

I met a good number of strange people out there but it's the cats I remember best. I may have babbled about this before but when I was younger my dad would go into town while we were out camping and bring back a cat nearly every year we went. They were the best cats I ever had and only one or two others that I've owned ever compared.

Talking soon. I do hope so.

Sorry I haven't done this yet, bleh, I've been out of it this week. :X
I haven't seen Hard Candy yet, what sort of genre is it? By looks I would say "horror-drama" but I'm not sure.

I'll go do this today...:3

That wouldn't be too far off. I honestly have a hard time trying to classify it but it was amazing. Let me know what you think of it!
