Of course, this isn't the first date we've had, but I am going to be hopelessly optimistic and start rereading the series in anticipation.

I just found your blog (after spending about an hour relentlessly googling. Seriously, why do you have to have the same name as a realty and spa therapy business? -_-) and I was just going to lurk while I tried to find out if you had any plans of a sequel to Ashes (probably not, but a girl can hope), but I had to comment on the irony to this post. Being poor as I am right now, I had to ask for Ashes as a Christmas present, since even $20 is a stretch for me right now. Well, I got it, and finished it in a day and a half...and my one other present this year was the box set of the first four Song of Ice and Fire books. Kind of unnecessary as I already had several copies of each book (not sure how I ended up with so many copies, but I don't mind) and, having finished Ashes, I'm going to move on to A Storm of Swords tonight. Er, anyway, I guess I thought it was kind of funny to find out that you're a Martin fan, and that I received Martin's books on the same Christmas as yours
