I got our renewal on our car insurance and the cards. I'm one who thinks that insurance is a rip off but a necessity so I'm stuck with it. However, upon getting our renewal I noticed our monthly payments went WAY down. Like 33% down

I remember when I started getting insurance when I bought my Civic. I was 21, not married, living at home, and I was buying a two-door sports car. Despite my great driving record it was going to cost almost as much as my monthly car payment to insure the car at the level I wanted.
You have passed the age 21 barrier and are married, plus you own a home. All of those could make your insurance go down, along with the age of your car.
Additionally, insurance rates go UP if you get divorced or live in a "less desirable" neighborhood.
Yeah, a lot has happened since our last renewal in January, even though we *technically* had our own home I'm just baffled that it went down so much. At the time of our last renewal we were already 22 and 23 years old, so really the only thing I can think of is that our cars are older or that we had the kid.
We get a lot of insurance discounts from the guy though, we have home, auto, and life policies there.
It makes a huge difference having your policies with one company.
I'm confused, though about your renewal in January. My auto insurance is paid 6 months at a time, but the renewal is yearly, so any additional discount we get are done during our yearly renewal. The only time we've had our insurance reduced at the 6 month mark was when we removed Ian from our policy.
I pay my car insurance monthly and get a renewal every 6 months. Every March and September unless something major happens (like when I turn 25 next month).
