You really need to work on your characterization. Your entire premise is just unfixably flawed - there's no way Light would confess for no reason or beg L to do anything. Light is brilliant, arrogant, selfish, incredibly egocentric, and there's a strong case to be made that he's never loved anyone but himself - look how willing he is in canon to sacrifice his family and innocent people to achieve his goals. And hes not ever, even in the end, willing to give up what he believes in. Him renouncing his idea of a new world and give up being Kira permanently just wouldn't ever happen - and he became Kira for that ideal because he believed he was the only one who could do it, not for fun or because he was bored
