So back in 1993 at the urging of my best friend, I started watching a show called The X-Files. I don't think I caught it from the very beginning, but definitely started watching that first season. My 1993 was a world without Yarry (I wouldn't meet him until 1994), without my own computer (my first came as a result of moving in with Yarry in 1996

I loved this show too.

Had no idea what fandom was (I discovered it quite by accident just a few months ago)so I am still an infant at the fandom and "official" shipping thing, although I have shipped characters in the past (just didn't know it had an official title)

So thrilled that you got to got to spend an evening with this trio.

Maybe in ten years, the cast of NCIS will be do the same thing. If so, I say we all call it a party and meet up there!

I was already going to Trek conventions when I discovered X-Files, but I definitely stumbled upon fandom later in life (in my 30's). I remember in the early convention days, those lucky few who had access to the internet (mostly just FTP back then, not the www) would bring reams of fanfold paper with them and would hold court while the rest of us luddites sat around and asked for scoops.

Of course, the vast majority of those 'scoops' were nonsense. But it was still fun!

Fandom sure has changed in the past 15 years or so. It used to be limited to sci-fi, but now (thank goodness!) it encompasses almost any TV show and movie you can name, not to mention anime, comics etc. etc.

Viva la internet! And viva the friendships we've formed as a result. I love all you guys! ♥
